A Course in Miracles
A Course in Miracles is the deep foundation of all of Pamela Chamberlynn's work and personal life.
Pamela is a spiritual seeker who has studied many different paths to awakening and studied with a wide variety of excellent teachers. A Course in Miracles is one of those paths. She began studying, completed and ultimately taught A Course in Miracles beginning in 1980, soon after it was published in the late 1970s. Pamela came back to the Course, as many of us know it in the three volume blue book set recorded by Helen Schucman Ph.D., at a whole new level in 2009. The cycle of awakening comes full circle and the spiraling staircase to heaven ascends.
The beginning of A Course in Miracles boldly states:
"This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only when you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance.
The opposite of love is fear, but what is all encompassing can have no opposite. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God."
The "required course" referred to in the beginning of the Text in the blue set of volumes titled A Course in Miracles is not the only version of the course. The course we will all complete someday is about the content of the message, not about the form of it. So parts of the course, or the course in its entirety, appear in many forms through many teachers throughout human history all around the world.
Many teachers have shared what they understood of these profound truths from their personal experiences with them. Pamela has found in her personal experiences with the course that the full required teachings are complete in the three volumes that record the teachings that Dr. Helen Schucman received from the elder brother we know as Jesus. The communications between Jesus and Dr. Schucman are recorded in the three volume set of blue books that we know as A Course in Miracles. The set of teachings is one form of a course in miracles. The content is universal and for all Sons of God.
A Course in Miracles is a course in awakening to Who and What you really are in truth. It is a course in how to let go of the illusions we have set up between ourselves and truth and love. It is a deeply personal experiential course. We truly learn only what we experience and come to know for ourselves.
The love you have been seeking throughout your life in so many ways and in so physical many forms is quite Real. And yet we all have experienced the frustration of our search for love. Pamela has found our yearning for truth and the course calling us in many forms. For instance, the course calls us through the melodic voice of Judy Collins in the words of the song "Clouds":
"I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud's illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all."
and Judy concludes the song, but not the course in awakening, with
"I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say, "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way
But now old friends are acting strange they shake their heads, they say
I've changed
But something's lost but something's gained in living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all."
There is no doubt that the required course summons us all through written word, music, art, the universal language of mathematics, nature in its infinite forms, in every word that every person speaks to us every day. The message is Love. The course can be written, spoken, sung, danced, expressed in mathematical formulas. It appears in movies, poems, acts of forgiveness and love, in nature and everywhere you look. The course is reflected in every single one of our relationships without exception because, indeed, it is a course in relationships. It is the content of the course that is required. The forms of it will generously and patiently present themselves to each of us limitlessly until we complete the course in its entirety and fully awaken to Who and What we really are.
