Soul Retrieval
The healing role of a shaman is to journey into non-ordinary reality with their power animal, track down and return missing parts of a person's soul or soul essence to them.
Soul Retrieval is one of the most powerful healing techniques I have ever learned with significant, life-changing results in one session. It is a classic shamanic healing technique developed by Sandra Ingermann, Ph.D. for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (Michael Harner Ph.D.) Dr. Ingermann now has her own organization in contemporary shamanism.
When a person is subject to extreme physical or emotional trauma that is beyond human capacity to endure or adapt to, parts of their soul energy may split off and go to a safe place. It is also common in codependent societies to give up parts of our soul essence to partners and/or to unconsciously take parts of their soul essences into our energy fields. This is a misguided attempt to "become one" with another person, to fill holes in our own lives. The whole human "love myth" is fraught with compromises to our innate wholeness and integrity. There are a variety of other circumstances in which we may lose part of our soul essence, such as extreme health challenges or chronic illnesses.
Have you ever wondered where part of your joy and passion and strength has gone? Do you ever feel that you are not the person you used to be and wondered what has happened to you? Have you had the felt empty or not "all here?"
I first learned the power of soul retrieval after years of doing intuitive healing work with people. I could see holes and deep tears in some people's auras that went into other dimensions than the earth plane we were sitting in across from each other in my office. I learned from my experience that I could seal these holes in their auras with flower essences. But when they would return for additional work later even the power of flower essences was not able to hold these deep soul tears in their aura and they would have reopened. I could also tell from my own experience in my personal healing process, that some work I did on myself, even with flower essences, simply was not holding.
I was studying shamanism and guided to take the Soul Retrieval course from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
When I came home and began to practice this technique, I saw the aura restored in a way I had never seen before. And, boy, was it holding! One soul retrieval could be a powerful move forward toward wholeness. People, myself included, were being able to make major life changes and improvements following soul retrievals. I found soul retrieval to be a major healing modality that produced strong results and positive life changes.

In the book she describes the theory and technique and you will know as you read the book if this is for you at this time in your life. The technique is so powerful and life changing that I will not do a soul retrieval without the client first having read the book to make sure this technique is for them at this time in their life.
Is a soul retrieval a super one time does it quick fix? Absolutely not. Each of us is here on this planet because we have forgotten Who and What we really are. We are disconnected from the Oneness of all life and Source Energy. We are here to awaken ourselves through our interactions and relationships with life all around us. We will be here until we fully awaken to Truth and Love and Oneness and remember Who and What we are. We have limitless assistance from Spirit in many different forms all around us in every moment. No one can ever be alone or separate. There are a wide variety of resources, teachers, healers and all kinds of excellent supports available these days. (and a lot of foo foo too, so caveat emptor and follow your heart's guidance) This is an incredible time to be alive and physically incarnate on the planet! These are pretty intense times and we are living challenging lives. A soul retrieval is one healing service that you may be drawn to use. If you do not feel it calling you deeply in your heart, do not even consider it.

A soul retrieval is a four session service package.
The first session is an assessment and interview in where you are in your life and what is drawing you to have a soul retrieval. You will have read the book and may have questions. We will discuss your support system. The changes that will come in the six to twelve months following a soul retrieval can be intense and you will want to have your support system in place to process them and life changes you are subsequently considering. You will feel the emotions that were present when part of your soul had to leave, or was taken from you. You will want a natural or professional support system in place so you can positively grow through these changes and awakenings to wonderful parts of your self. A responsible professional shaman will not do a soul retrieval on someone who is using drugs or experiencing a period of unmanaged mental illness. (A soul retrieval may help someone who has mental illness - in which case we would want the partnership of your therapist or doctor so they could provide and help you process returning emotions. It would be helpful for them to read Dr. Ingermann's book also) This session is one hour. The service fee is $75.00
- Session 2 is the soul retrieval ritual described in Dr. Ingermann's book. Typically one to three soul parts are returned to you during one soul retrieval. Your own higher self is in charge of which part or parts are returned in a soul retrieval. This is a very beautiful and deeply moving healing service. Following the soul retrieval, I do a flower essence treatment and a full Reiki treatment to integrate and balance these newly returned soul parts to make the soul retrieval gentler on your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies and to support the newly returned soul parts and you in a gentler integration process. You will have a tincture of flower essences to take home and take, typically, twice a day, for two weeks. This session is typically two and a half to three hours. The service fee is $275.00
- Session 3 is two weeks after the soul retrieval. We will review what is happening in your life now that parts of yourself have returned. This is an emotional, heart opening time and it is likely that you are feeling emotionally vulnerable and sensitive. You may be considering making changes in your life as a result of the soul retrieval. Those you love and/or live with will be effected by the changes in you. We will discuss how you are handling the wonderful changes in your life and how you can support your soul parts that have returned. We want to know what they need from you. They will have brought back gifts and talents of yours that you may be aware that you have lost. I will do another flower essence and Reiki treatment to support the continued gentle integration of your soul part or parts that have returned. We will love, honor and celebrate them and their return. The service fee is $100.00.
- Session 4 is scheduled six months after the soul retrieval. The appointment is made along with session 3 at the end of the soul retrieval. Both of these follow-up appointments are very important to the full benefit of your soul retrieval and the life changes that occur as a result of having valuable parts of your self back. This session will focus on life and relationship changes and how you are handling them. Typically you will be feeling more aliveness and joy with life, more wholeness and comfort with your self. You may also be engaging areas of your life that were stuck and needed changing. You will be getting back in touch with the gifts and talents of these parts of your soul and wanting to express those. Session 4 may well be two hours. The service fee is $75.00 per hour.
